Recently I took a yoga class. Not to put too strong a word on it but….I HATED IT. I am pretty flexible because of my swimming practice but I am really bad at balance. During the yoga session, after the instructor ran over to pick me up from the floor, he whispered the words…
“Your balance needs improving”. Bad balance he said comes with … [ three letter word- fill in the blank A_E ] I HATED hearing this, even though after much googling, I came to the conclusion that he was right.
At that point I had two choices:
Just continue with my first love, swimming
or
Tackle this head on.
I decided on the later option. Today I “tackled” the imbalance. I started weight training. My goal is to gain more muscle, which will help with my balance, and then try the yoga again.
And
What I know for sure. There come points in life when you have to make a choice or simply put your head in the sand. The later never, ever works because eventually your decision of standing still affects your future. It comes back to bite you in the bum.
The first step is to decide. Decide what you want, little or small, and plan for an “alteration” in your current environment/situation.
And finally:
- We each are in charge of our lives.
- Mediocrity never works.
- We are all responsible for making this time we have here the best we can.
What I know for sure.
This is our obligation.
The Obligation
