It’s okay to do nothing

Welcome to my very first blog post in this series. I am excited to help you are your journey of running your business with ease and simplicity.

Before I start I want to recommend a book I recently read. The book is titled Atomic Habits by James Clear.

In a nutshell the book reveals that we must become conscious of our habits, determine if they are serving us and modify, alter, change if necessary. There is so much more to this book, too much to go into here but I highly recommend this book.

So without further ado, let’s roll.

If there is one thing I know for sure—>

It is not necessary to work ALL THE TIME.

  • Been there
  • Done that.

It is exhausting.

And

At the end of the day, so unproductive.

Working all the time has destructive consequences that effect:

  • Your business
  • Your life
  • Your mental state

Oftentimes I think to myself…

Who were you trying to impress? No one
was looking over your shoulder watching
me, critiquing me, pushing me to work 24/7.

And..

No one was whispering in my ear “ you need
to take care of yourself”.

But thankfully I have learned from my mistakes.

And

Here is my wish for you

Stop.

The key to this craziness, this non-stop work, is to STOP

What???

Yes!!!

Stop and do nothing.

I know this might seem odd, out of place, heck you could even
shout out loud…

“I don’t know how to stop”.

But let me tell you, let me shout it from the rooftops…

You can do it. Now Just Stop period.
Here are a few suggestions

Go for a walk—->

Sit quietly in a cafe—>

Take a drive in your car or better still get out on your bike—>

Play with the cat, dog your children [ I probably should have put this first! ]

And you might be saying to yourself—>

What about my business?

Well, when you implement systems and processes into the daily, weekly and monthly operation of your business you will open up a world of opportunities. You will be able to refresh your mind, free up space, sort of delete the unnecessary files and become of other avenues to explore.

This concept certainly is the extreme opposite to what we were taught. Thankfully times have changed. We now have the ability to work at our own pace. We have more control. YAY!

I have found it works.
